Topic: 15 Things you should know about ISO 9001:2015
ISO 9001:2015 is very different from its predecessors. It is still a Quality Management System Standard that is based upon certain (but now redefined) Quality Management Principles. But, the new Higher Level Structure, Emphasis on Risk Based Thinking, Fewer Prescribed Requirements, Less Emphasis on Documents, and Stronger Applicability to Services, open many opportunities for organizations to improve themselves. Organizations must examine their Context and define the Boundaries of their QMS. By focusing more on outcomes organizations will find it easier to put more emphasis than ever on Customer Satisfaction.
Speaker: Ed May, President and Chief Consultant at Mayplewood Consulting
Ed May is an American Society for Quality Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (ASQ CSSBB), Certified Manager of Quality / Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) who spent several decades in the manufacturing industry before establishing himself as a quality consultant, adjunct professor, and on-site instructor.
For the last dozen years, Ed has taught undergraduate courses in Business, Quality Systems and Statistics at NJIT. He teaches Continuing Education Lean Six Sigma Courses for NJIT, Union County College and JVS. He is currently the Director (in New Jersey) of Quality and Productivity Solutions in Woodbridge, New Jersey.
