The Section Committees are responsible for coordinating and organizing the events 

and functions of the ASQ Tappan Zee Section.  Each committee is chaired by a 

volunteer from the Section's membership.

The Education Committee organizes and plans all training courses and seminars.  

The Education Committee  is also responsible for planning and coordinating ASQ 

Certification Examinations.

The Membership Committee assists prospective members secure membership and assists existing members seeking upgrade to their membership.  The Membership Committee also contacts members who's dues have lapsed as a reminder to renew membership.

The Newsletter Editor is responsible for publishing quarterly newsletters, monthly 

meeting fliers, seminar fliers, education brochures and other necessary documents for distribution to the membership.  The Newsletter Editor also maintains the section's emailing list to distribute the aforementioned publications for electronic distribution.

The Placement Committee works with members to assist in securing employment 

as well as supporting area businesses to fill open employment opportunities.

The Programs and Arrangements Committees coordinate the plans and arrangements for all meetings, seminars, etc.

Other committees and activities include:

SMP - Section Management Process.  SMP is ASQ's process designed to 

coordinate the functions of the section in an effort to provide continuity from year 

to year as well as provide direction for the Section's Board.  The section develops an annual Section Business Plan to coordinate all its activities in order to achieve ASQ requirements.

NEQC - North East Quality Council.  The NEQC is an organization made up of over 

20 ASQ Sections throughout the northeastern US from Maine to New Jersey.  The council hosts annual conferences, training sessions and educational programs.  As a member section, the Tappan Zee Section Officers and Board members attend annual leadership training free of charge and participate in planning and execution of a variety of events.
